You can’t come to the Lake District without taking to the water and trying your hand at Kayaking.  Our water base is at the northern end of Derwentwater, one of the most beautiful lakes in England and close to the Centre.  Kayaking is one of our more demanding but ultimately rewarding activities.

Once fitted with waterproofs and a buoyancy aid, your Instructor will give a land based introduction to the skills needed to control your craft.  Using a stable single seat kayak, your Instructor will take you to one of the nearby sheltered corners to introduce games and exercises to  help you quickly master control of your boat.  Then you might explore the lake, visit an island or even stop off for tea and cake !
