Just a 5 minute drive from the centre of Keswick on Derwentwater in the heart of the Lake District National Park, Keswick Climbing Wall and Outdoor Activity Centre is situated next to the historic Castlerigg Stone Circle and offers magnificent views over to the Helvellyn Range.

We try to keep are large double doors open all year round for you all to enjoy truly one of the best views in the Lake District!

With free all day parking, Café onsite, indoor and outdoor activities for all ages, experienced and qualified staff, and AALA license, no matter what the weather, Keswick Climbing Wall and Outdoor Activity Centre has something for everyone!

Activities

Kayaking

You can’t come to the Lake District without taking to the water and trying your hand at Kayaking. Our water base is at the northern end of Derwentwater, one of the most beautiful lakes in England and close to the Centre. Kayaking is one of our more demanding but ultimately rewarding activities.

Ghyll Scrambling

Ghyll Scrambling is hard to define but is invariably is the favourite activity of visitors to Newlands. A wet decent of a Lakeland mountain stream, Ghyll Scrambling starts with a twenty minute walk from our front door to the top of the ghyll.

Canoeing

Meet-up at Newlands Adventure Centre £40 per person per session You can’t come to the Lake District without visiting Derwentwater, one of the most beautiful lakes in England, and there is no more relaxing way to explore this incredible body of water than in a Canoe!

Rock Climbing

The Lake District is known for being the home of Rock Climbing, so why not try your hand at this extreme sport! Conquer a fear and get up close and personal with some of the incredible local landscape.

Archery

Archery is one of the oldest outdoor leisure activities in the UK, practiced by peasants and Kings alike.

Paddleboarding

Paddleboarding is quickly gaining popularity as a new paddle sport in the UK, and there’s no better place to try it out than the stunning

The Woods

The Woods is a great team building challenge for all friends and family! Under the watchful eyes of our Instructors you will be working as a group to complete all the challenges in our private woodland!

High Ropes Course

At Keswick Climbing Wall we have our very own private High Ropes Course just 10 minutes walk from the centre! You will be meeting your Instructor at the Climbing Wall where they will be kitting you up with all the equipment and then its just a short walk down to our High Ropes course!

Field Archery

After a session on traditional archery targets to hone your shooting skills you are led by an Instructor through the woodland around the centre “hunting” our specially made foam creatures.

The Tower - Zipline - Keswick Climbing Wall

The Tower Experience

You will climb to the top of the 14m Tower, pausing to take in a sweeping views of the Helvellyn, Skiddaw and Blencathera ranges; unique and stunning views of the heart of the Lake District.

Bike Tour

This popular outdoor pursuit allows you to take in the beautiful Lake District at your own pace while learning to mountain bike safely and effectively.
