Canoeing

When you arrive in Keswick, one of the first things that will catch your eye is Derwentwater! It a must see, but we can offer you one better…

Do you want to go and explore the lake itself with a local guide? Maybe you want to go visit one of the Derwentwater’s islands? Hopefully we have made you realise that can’t come to the Lake District without taking to the water!

You will meet your instructor at Newlands Adventure Centre, once everyone is happy we will depart to our private marina! Our water base is at the northern end of Derwentwater, and close to the Centre.

Canoeing is one of our more relaxing activities; easy to learn and great fun for all ages!

After fitting with waterproofs and a buoyancy aid, your Instructor will give a land based introduction to the basic skills required to control your canoe and what to do if you capsize! Introductory games, exercises and activities quickly help you master your canoe to enable you to paddle further and perhaps to visit an island (if the weather permits it).

£35pp for 3hr session with instructor and boats!
