Accommodation
We can provide activities, accommodation and food all year round for a maximum of 130 people.
Accommodation is in single, twin and bunk rooms (all bedding but no towels provided), all with carpets, double-glazing and centrally heated with separate male and female floors. Group Leaders have separate rooms next to the group bunk ~ rooms with separate showers and toilets from the main group and their own staff room with tea and coffee making facilities.
On site facilities include a Residents Bar, a large dining room (special diets can be catered for), a large and efficient drying room for wet gear and a comfortable lounge. With spacious grounds, a river running right past our front door and with direct access on to the fells, rivers and lakes, where could be better than Newlands?
The Dining Room
At Newlands we have consistently good feedback from our guests on the quality and standard of all our meals. Cooked from fresh on site daily, the food is wholesome, plentiful and nutritious. Special diets can be catered for and Newlands can also cater for celebrations, special dinners and events. Newlands is also proud that we have maintained 5 stars in the Environmental Health scheme “Score on the Doors” since 2009. This is the highest standard that can be awarded after inspection and we work constantly to maintain this high level of cleanliness and food safety.
Our spacious Dining Room can seat 90 people at a time, allowing your party to dine in comfortable surroundings overlooking Newlands Beck and Cat Bells. We can provide a full cooked English breakfast, packed or cooked lunches depending on your party’s needs, and a three course evening meal.
Games & Drying Rooms
Our large, indoor games room is suitable for a variety of uses, evening games, lectures, presentations and the end of week disco.
Whether you’ve had a wet day in the hills or been fully immersed on the ghyll scramble our large and efficient drying room will soon have your clothes dry again.
The Grounds at Newlands
Surrounded by the Lake District Northern fells, Newlands is set in a stunning location. Facilities within the grounds include a large sports field ideal for evening games, the lawn & picnic area which are perfect sun traps throughout the gorgeous Lake District summer!
